Description
Made of a proprietary elastomer with unique flow and set characteristics to fill irregular gaps. Size d - 5" x 5". Slot size - 1-5/8".
Tab makes shim placement easier and safer while eliminating the need to place hands under the machinery during installation or removal of shim. Blue sof' Shoe® elastomer shims are 0.020" thick compress to 0.0175" and absorb up to 0.010" of angularity. Precision Brand® sof' Shoe® elastomer shim solves angular soft foot alignment problems on motors pumps generators turbines and other plant machinery in minutes.
Sof' Shoe® cures angular soft foot and extends bearing and motor life. It is an inexpensive alternative when compared to more time consuming and expensive options such as milling the base or foot hand cutting graduated shims replacing base or rebuilding base with poured epoxy. Each sof' Shoe® elastomer shim's thickness has a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque yet will absorb the angularity of nearly half its thickness.
